Open a one year civil suit availability for child rape Victims in Tennessee
The Issue
On July 2nd, 2019, the state of Tennessee tried to implicate an 'Abolish there Statute of Limitations on child abuse, child rape. This bill H-565 was presented to allow criminal and supposed freedom to sue organizations who protected child rapist.
The original statutes in Tennessee blocked anyone from prosecuting or civil cases as the victim was 3 years from age 18. This statute blocked EVERYONE. This meant the victims lived a horrible life and the abusers lived long prosperous lives without any remorse or fear of prosecution. They are/were protected by the law that should have been protected the victims!!
The recent bill H565 was passed unanimous! Yay, except, it was Smoke and Mirrors!!
I was named and was there for the signing. After a 25 year struggle of letter after letter to the state legislation, and most of all, to the organization I was abused. I was a victim of child rape, extreme mind manipulation, and continuous use of Baptist Religion to honor the monster that abused me.
I have stacks of hand written letters to the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home, I lived there 1972 thru 1979. My house parent was my rapist/abuser. There are other victims also, my sister and 5 girls I can not find. I was his favorite, so special huh? I was 4 years old!!
The Bill H565 was butchered and protects organizations STILL!!!. The Tennessee Baptist Church organizations just like the Catholics, own Tennessee and surrounding states. The Bible belt.... Southern Baptist Convention the SBC!!
The organizations need to be held accountable, especially when I have been begging them for counseling, that's all, for my sister and myself, for 25 years they have been aware of our extreme struggle to have any sort of normal life.. needless to say..THEY NEVER responded!! My pitiful phonecalls crying and telling my story to every new person that would answer the phone, and still NEVER respond!!
Can you imagine answering a call, or reading a letter telling a story of long term child rape and not doing any follow-up?? This is a Baptist Children's Home, with psychiatrist on site. This wonderful place, and this supposed wonderful houseparent. They are both Monsters. The organization for protecting him.
Even though I was there for the signing, Organizations and facilities are still protected. They still are standing behind the Statute of Limitations!!
Please sign to open up a one year window for Civil cases against organizations and facilities that protected abusers, like the other states that have tried to approach this terrible issue!!
Mental health is an issue today because of the lives we've lived and the secrets we've kept. No more secrets! Give us the right to tell our stories, and approach the legal rights I should have had as this little girl in me keeps fighting and crying!! She never stops fighting to be heard!!
