On January 31st, 2010 my aunt Rhonda June West 51 of Waynesville Mo was stuck and killed by a motor vehicle on Hwy 17 while walking home after the Super Bowl. Police said they were looking for the driver but they already knew who that driver was. It was Officer Gary Brankel. Who resigned from his post following the incident and later was part of a civil lawsuit involving the wrongful death of Rhonda. No criminal charges were ever brought up. He still walks free and continues to enjoy the life that he has. My problem is, is that he is still a police officer and still has his POST certification in the state of Missouri. There has been absolutely no justice for Rhonda in my opinion. With all the attention being focused on wrong doing by police officers these days why has this never ever gotten any serious news attention. She was obviously unarmed and was not breaking the law she was simply walking home and was killed 100 yards from her driveway. There is evidence listed in a link below that shows evidence was missing along with other things that would make anyone who reads it tilt their heads. I'm asking everyone to please sign. I just want to see the person responsible or should say people responsible to lose their ability to make the same mistakes again. They were sworn to protect the citizens and protect the laws. Neither of these happened on that tragic night in fact they continue to be covered up. Those involved also continue to run for higher appointed offices. I'm hoping with this petition that the people who are not underneath the shady cloud of the county and city government will take a look at what really happened, maybe criminal charges will incur maybe they won't. God knows someone deserves to pay, someone definitely deserves to be in jail for her death, but at the very least all those involved in the civil lawsuit that paid out to one of her family members should have to resign any post they hold and lose their POST certifications. There is a span of evidence that I don't have room to post here but I beg you to simply sign this petition so the right people can look into it. She now has two grandbabies that she will never meet, that will ever know her she would've have been the only grandparent on that side of the family. how sad for anyone to be robbed of the love and spoilage grandparents always seem to give.
