The practice of chumming loose eggs, corn, and other organic material to catch/harvest steelhead and trout is not in the best interest of our cold water fisheries. There are many unanswered questions concerning the negative biological impacts that chumming has on steelhead and trout. Furthermore, this is an unethical fishing practice that provides fisherman that chum opportunities to catch large numbers of fish at the expense of other anglers who do not chum.
