This petition was created to demand the resignation of Governor Kay Ivey for willfully turning a blind eye to justice and endangering every resident of Alabama while breaking the heart of racial and judicial relationships of America. Governor Ivey blatantly ignored the request and outpour of the Alabama residents as well as citizens of the United States of America. She refused to intervene in the wrongful execution of Nathaniel Wood. 

Nathaniel Wood is an African American man who was wrongly convicted of a crime he didn’t commit in 2004. Several attempts have been made to clear his name and prove his innocence. Multiple jurors, including the foreperson, supported stopping the execution. Despite the outreach of celebrity Kim Kardashian West, Shaun King, local residents and a host of others, Governor Ivey did nothing. After reviewing the complete record, she felt that clemency was as unwarranted. 

It is time that we hold elected officials responsible for their actions or lack thereof. They represent us, yet our voices continue to be silenced and unheard. I urge the state of Alabama along with the support of the citizens of The United States of America to take a stand. Today Thursday, March 5, 2020 an innocent man was executed at approximately 9:01pm. Join me in demanding that Governor Kay Ivey resigns immediately.
