As a mother, grandmother, and human rights activist, I am deeply moved by the pain and suffering of occupied people across the globe. From Ukraine, Kashmir to Palestine, no individual should live under constant fear or threat. The ongoing violence in the occupied Palestinian territory has claimed over 22,000 lives since October 7th - each one a devastating loss.  Scenes from the situation can be viewed here.

This is why I am calling on all citizens to urge their elected state, county, city and town council representatives from across America to add their names on this sign-on letter, organized by Jewish Voice for Peace Action (JVP Action). This letter is co-led by Illinois State Representative Lilian Jiménez and Delaware State Representative Madinah Wilson-Anton. Their aim is clear - they are urging the Biden administration to immediately call for and work towards facilitating a permanent ceasefire.

The current situation demands immediate action. We must prioritize peace over politics. Our collective voices can make an impact; they can help bring about change that saves lives.
