This petition is to have Chancellor Jeb Spaulding removed from his position in the Vermont State Colleges System. 6 months after saying that closing campuses was a last resort, he has gone back on his word in an attempt to shut down both NVU campuses and the VTC Randolph location. This is a move that will cost people their jobs (including health benefits), students their educational opportunities (including the loss of out-of-state students and commuters, as well as the negative impact on lower-income and working-class Vermonters), and devastate the economy of the NEK as well as the communities surrounding these institutions. This blatant attack on public institutions of higher education, and particularly rural areas, cannot stand. Remove this man and his incompetence from the position of Chancellor.
