Why this petition matters

Started by Lynn Htun

On the 3rd of March, 2021  A 19 year old young woman named Ma Kyal Sin from Mandalay was shot in the head and killed by Security Forces during a non-violent peaceful protest against the military coup and to free detained elected leaders of Myanmar.

Before she was ruthlessly slain, her last post on her Facebook account was in fact her last will "If i cannot be saved alive, I donate my whole body for those in need".  This goes to show her courageous determination and the length in which she would go to see the protest through till her country is free again.   She was a loving daughter and a Tai Kwan Do protege, who had bright future ahead of her.

Madam State Councillor and Mr. President, this young girl died while calling for your freedom.  She died while protesting in your nameShe is a true martyr, a hero and a brave warrior.   Her sacrifice and bravery has inspired a generation of young people.   The whole country is heart broken and mourning for the loss of this young woman's life.

Her ultimate sacrifice and bravery should not go unnoticed as she has brought honor to us all.  Therefore I respectfully urge you to posthumously award her our country's highest and most prestigious award for recognition of valor and bravery, the "Aung San Thuriya" to honor her courage, sacrifice and heroism she has shown.  Please make her the second civilian to receive this prestigious award of our nation to recognize the courage she has shown, sacrifice she has made in your name and in the name of freedom and democracy for her country.
