Australia has become one of the most poorly governed nations in the world due to a failure in leadership by Federal and State Governments to coordinate a managed exit strategy for dealing with the Covid 19 pandemic. Instead of managing a way to live with Covid, State Governments have one by one elected to pursue a zero case strategy believing they can ‘eradicate and crush the virus’. This is something no other country in the world has managed to do or indeed attempted to do.  The Federal Government for its part has failed to show leadership having squandered the opportunity to roll out a national vaccination programme while the ‘curve remained flattened’. Consequently our Nation now faces a seemingly never ending round of rolling lockdowns, state and international border closures, causing socioeconomic devastation on a scale not seen since the Great Depression.  Yet those responsible for issuing such edicts ranging from politicians to unelected health officials do not experience any change to their incomes or livelihoods. These very individuals who are making such decisions that effect the livelihoods of so many are not accountable or economically affected by their decisions. Please sign and share this petition demanding that all public servants including but not limited to Federal and State Politicians, and Health Officials, are subject to the very same hardship their decisions are inflicting upon We The People. By virtue of their combined failure to show leadership and responsibility for their actions, they should share and experience the very same hardships they have inflicted upon their citizens.
