Every year, millions of people visit our wonderful country, enjoy our attractions and hospitality and many purchase Australian souvenirs to remember their time in our country.

Many such mementos brandish either the word Australia, or pictures of Australian attractions, or represent Australian Animals in plush form. Other items represent our rich indegenous culture as pieces of unique Aboriginal art and Aboriginal history...

Sadly, and almost ironically, most of these Australian Mementos are made off shore and sold locally at huge profit.

I propose that it be made legislation that all Australian Souvenirs sold in Australia be made in Australia, by Australians.

Obviously an immediate ban on imported souvineirs is not tenable, but a 5 year rollback of imported Australian and Aboriginal souvineirs is easily achievable, and is a measure which supports Australian businesses - large and small - and a measure I believe would be supported by the vast majority of Australians.
