Prisons are concrete plantations with a population that has grown 700% in the last 40 years. Incarcerated persons are seen as state and federal property. Even when receiving medical care, incarcerated persons are shackled, and pregnant incarcerated persons are shackled during the near-death experience of child labor and delivery. 

The prison system rarely rehabilitates, but never fails to punish, control, break the spirit and body of the humans that it warehouses.
