Meetings with Texas House Committee on Public Health

Ashley Berkenhoff, of SSL-Austin will meet with representatives of the Texas House Committee on Public Health tomorrow morning (Wednesday, February 25). She will deliver a draft of legislation making a simple addition to the Education Code stating "the school day shall begin no earlier than 8 AM." Please contact members of this committee immediately. Tell them early school start times create a public health issue that affect the health (sleep deprivation, obesity, diabetes, depression, suicide ideation) and safety (walking and driving to school before dawn) of our children.
