Daily Schedule for 2020-21 Academic Year

The Texas Education Agency has given local school districts three options to consider for the next academic school year in light of COVID-19. Districts are now forced to re-imagine the academic calendar and acknowledge a flexible learning model. A modified full year calendar, with several extended breaks, is under consideration.

Now is the time to contact the school district and request they consider a healthy daily start time for middle and high school students. Adjusting the daily start time is minimum compared to all the other changes that will be necessary.

Please cut and paste the school board and superintendent's emails below and request adolescents not begin the school day before 8:30 am, as recommended by the CDC and the American Medical Association.
