ACTION ALERT: Healthy School Hours - HB 1602

HB 1602 is currently dormant in the House Public Education Committee.To keep this bill alive, Committee Members need to hear how many people support this landmark bill that will ensure safe, healthy school start times to all children no matter where they happen to live in the state.

Texas residents can help by taking these two steps TODAY:

1) Call the CAPITOL offices of the Committee Members.

2) Contact Committee Members through emails and Twitter.

SAMPLE LANGUAGE: "My name is _______ and I am calling to thank Representative _______ for serving on the Public Education Committee. I am asking the Representative to vote yes on HB1602, the Healthy School Start Times bill by Representative Hernandez. Our kids are relying on the Representative to put kids' health above all else. Children should be allowed to get the sleep their growing bodies and brains need to be healthy and safe. Thank you for passing my call/email along to the Representative."

With enough calls and emails, we can ensure safe, healthy school start times for all Texas school children with this landmark public health and child protection legislation!
