We, the students, faculty, and those concerned for the medical safety of members of our campus community, express our support for the establishment of Campus EMS at UNC Charlotte. 

Campus EMS programs in the united states are designed to serve the student and faculty population within the confines of each university. Campus EMS programs are run by students, for students, who operate as EMT Basics. According to the NCEMSF, campus EMS systems respond to calls 2.5 minutes faster than local systems. This is vital, as the strain on local EMS systems has increased over the last several years. Campus EMS programs also offer the opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in first response or medicine.
