Currently, students from grades 6 to 12 at Trenton High School lack the option to engage in this beneficial sport. Forming a freestyle wrestling team will provide a healthy outlet for students, promote school spirit, and enhance overall student engagement. Moreover, it will align and connect our school with other schools in the surrounding counties that already offer this sport, ensuring that our students have equal opportunities for athletic participation. 

We urge the Gilchrist County School District and Trenton High School administration to consider the overwhelming interest of the students. We propose allocating resources to start a freestyle wrestling team for all interested students from grades 6 through 12. Practices can be held in the old gymnasium on the campus. States must select one set of weight classes for both boys and girls and cannot switch during the season. The NFHS allows states to choose between 12, 13, or 14 weight classes for both boys and girls wrestling.
