Start a Solar Schools Initiative

Solar panels, as with other forms of renewable energy, offer a powerful educational value to students. In the coming years, American society will need to explore renewable energy sources, and the school system is an excellent way to implement this shift in energy usage. We suggest that the School Board creates a program in which the Parent-Teacher Association and students raise money for and businesses donate to solar schools projects. With solar panels on their roofs, students can learn about alternative energy sources and environmental consciousness. Fairfax County should focus on renewable energy and sustainability to remain a leader in educating the next generation of leaders.
