How can Starrett City aka Spring Creek, owned by BSC, located in Brooklyn, New York, the largest federally subsidized housing development in the nation, (46 buildings) possibly have insecure mailboxes jeopardizing people's privacy, putting information at risk, and get away with it? 

We, the residents of Starrett City aka Spring Creek, are in need of signatures to help rectify this unacceptable issue of old, outdated, broken mailboxes to secure and safe mailboxes in which the residents can receive their mail securely without having their sensitive information compromised. 

Numerous attempts via email and phone have been made to management and city & state agencies contacted include: Starrett City aka Spring Creek, New York City 311, New York City Housing & Urban Development (HUD), and New York State Homes & Community Renewal (HCR) with recorded proof via photos and videos and they conclude that the "mailboxes are in good working condition".

No one should have to go thru not having their mail secured and safe and with pertinent information at risk. But of course, it seems like that does not matter to those that can change the narrative. This has been an ongoing battle of finger-pointing and has been very challenging to battle despite the evidence provided to them.

You don't have to live in the community to sign and share. What affects one affects all of us. Feel free to be heard and express why you are signing the petition. This is a quality of life issue and not having secure mailboxes leaves our sensitive information at risk of being compromised. Imagine if someone stole ur identity and ran up a credit bill in your name? Imagine missing packages, more importantly medicines? Imagine not receiving Starrett City correspondence such as rent bills and leases? Now imagine having to fight for your identity and clear up all these things? Not a pretty picture right? If this has happened to you before, then you should understand. If not, this can be your family, your friend or even your neighbor. This affects us all!!!

Please help the residents of Starrett City get their insecure, unsafe mailboxes replaced with secure mailboxes that their privacy would not be compromised. This is a quality of life issue and what does that say about what they think about the quality of our lives? What affects us as residents affects all of us as neighbors, too!!! Let's make Starrett City aka Spring Creek the model complex as it should be. Thank you.
