Starbucks NEEDS to have better allergy controls - so that ALL customers can enjoy safely!

Many of us love Starbucks drinks. The unique flavors. The taste. The accessibility. But a lot of us have food allergies. In the US, 32 million people (and rising!) have one or more allergies. Every day, 5 people die from an allergic reaction (according to allergicchild.com). Breaking into hives is no joke. And, especially, anaphylaxis can be fatal.

Starbucks NEEDS to change. We can solve this. Change is not easy and not free, but it is not hard or expensive. There are some easy steps Starbucks can — and SHOULD — take:

• Create a separate, allergy-free section in the mobile app
• Separate the equipment for allergies so that there is no contamination 
• Label allergen-free orders with a special mark (i.e. red sticker)
• Be more careful when making allergen-free drinks (new gloves, etc.)

Allergy sufferers need to have the confidence that they will not be victimized. We want to be noticed. We want to enjoy our drinks. We want to be safe.

We love Starbucks. We want Starbucks to love us too!
