Protect Netherfield Lane Residents Group started this petition to Stanstead Abbotts Parish Council

The Stanstead Abbotts Parish Council are proposing to build new homes on Green Belt land in the picturesque village of Stanstead Abbotts in Hertfordshire.

Stanstead Abbotts is a small rural village and the proposal is to build on land that is in an area of natural beauty in the Lea Valley. It is in an area where there is a large volume of natural waterways and flooding is a risk to many local residents. In fact there have been a number of floods in local properties in the past few years and building on this Green Belt land can only worsen that risk.

The field in Netherfield Lane is also of local historical interest in that it was an airfield in the first world war.

We must help protect this land and to retain is green belt status for the benefit of local residents now and for future generations. There must be alternatives to sacrificing our green fields for building houses and we desperately need public support to raise awareness and stop this outrageous proposal.

Our local Parish Council have previously fought to protect land in Netherfield Lane from housing development and have now done a complete U turn. Our local representatives cannot be trusted in their decision making.

Please support this cause

Thank You
