Stand With Working Moms: Fight for the Right to Remote Work Accommodations
The Issue
Every day, countless Canadian women wake up exhausted, juggling the impossible: demanding jobs, caregiving, and endless commutes. Being forced into the office full-time with no reasonable accommodation—no matter our family situations, no matter how far we live, no matter the needs of our children, for jobs that can be easily done remotely with no hard to employer — is not only unreasonable, it is cruel.
I am a single mother of two, including a child with a disability. For years, remote work gave me the opportunity to be there for my kids while also building my career. I’m sure many of you are in the same situation and know exactly what I’m talking about—the balance between being there for my children and providing for them.
This isn’t just about work—it’s about our families, our health, and our futures. Rigid return-to-office rules threaten to push women out of the workforce, harm our children’s well-being, and break the fragile balance we fight every day to maintain.
We need the Government of Canada to act. We need the right to request remote work accommodations. We deserve workplaces that respect our lives outside the office.
Sign this petition to demand:
The right for workers to ask for remote work when their jobs allow it.
Fair and compassionate consideration of accommodation requests.
Support for women and caregivers striving to hold it all together.
If you’ve felt the weight of this struggle, your voice matters. Together, we can make sure no woman has to sacrifice her family for her job.
