The Issue

Two crashes. 346 lives lost.

Now, families are making what may be their final plea: Hold Boeing criminally accountable.

On Wednesday, a federal judge will consider a motion by the Justice Department to drop the felony conspiracy charge against Boeing. This comes despite a previous finding that Boeing violated its 2021 settlement and despite the fact that Boeing admitted to deceiving regulators about the flight control system implicated in both crashes.

Instead of prosecution, the DOJ has agreed to a non-prosecution deal—allowing Boeing to avoid trial in exchange for fines and vague promises to improve safety.

The families say no.

They’ve already waited years. They’ve already buried their children, siblings, and spouses. Now they’re being asked to accept a backroom deal that lets Boeing off the hook.

We are calling on the Department of Justice and the U.S. District Court to:

Reject the non-prosecution agreement
Appoint a special prosecutor to pursue the criminal case
Let this go to trial—where the public can see the evidence and the truth!

This case isn’t just about Boeing. It’s about whether powerful corporations can lie, cut corners, and kill—and still buy their way out of justice.
