The Issue

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is calling for the U.S. to end all animal testing for chemicals and drugs—and he’s right.

Animal testing is outdated, inhumane, and scientifically unreliable. It causes unimaginable suffering to millions of animals each year, while failing to predict human outcomes in the majority of cases. We need science that saves lives—without cruelty.

As part of his Make America Healthy Again initiative, RFK Jr. is directing federal agencies to phase out animal testing and adopt modern alternatives like:

Lab-grown human tissues and organoids
3D modeling and computer simulations
Advanced human-cell-based research platforms

And there’s momentum: the NIH recently launched the Standardized Organoid Modeling (SOM) Center, a major investment in replacing animal testing with human-relevant science. Kennedy is also supporting funding to rehome retired lab animals—a compassionate, long-overdue step.

But this is only the beginning.

Sign this petition to stand with RFK Jr. and ensure concrete actions follow for the future of science without animal suffering.

For real progress, we need Congress, NIH, and the FDA to:

  • Fully phase out animal testing in all biomedical research and chemical testing
  • Redirect funding from animal-based studies to advanced human-based models
  • Adopt a national roadmap for ending animal testing across all federal agencies
  • Require regulatory agencies to accept and prioritize non-animal data wherever possible

The future of ethical, effective science is here—and RFK Jr. is helping lead the way. But we must demand real commitment to make it permanent.
