Stand with Mr. Durand - Prevent his Reassignment

Stand with Mr. Durand - Prevent his Reassignment
The Issue
For more than a decade, Jeff Durand has been a devoted principal in the College Station community, first at Creek View Elementary and now at Rock Prairie Elementary. He has impacted thousands of lives across College Station, and has dedicated an immense amount of effort into improving our children's education. Mr. Durand has always individually ensured each child at his schools are receiving a quality education, and is very communicative with parents. CSISD currently plans to reassign him as an assisstant principal at another unknown campus, and has not been transparent with the community about the sudden decision. Recent attempts to sway the school board's opinion on the matter seemed to be ignored, with no real effort being made by the school district to change anything other than saying "our voice is heard", deteriorating the level of trust between the community and the school district.
Reassigning Mr. Durand would be a profound loss for Rock Prairie. Leaders as engaged, and impactful as he is are exceptionally rare - and replacing him would be nearly impossible. The quality of education our children are receiving has been declining over the years, and Mr. Durand is one of the few working to reverse this trend. He goes above and beyond in ensuring a quality education for our kids. Reassigning him to an assistant principal position would be a waste of his talent and passion for education, and would be massively disrespectful to someone who has dedicated so much time and effort to our community.
I was personally a student under Mr. Durand when he was the assisstant principal, and then principal at Creek View Elementary, right after it opened. I struggled to focus and fit in at Creek View, and while many of the teachers tried to help me, it was to no avail. However, Mr. Durand was there for me every step of the way, and helped me learn to love school. I am currently a junior attending Texas A&M working on a B.S. in Geophysics, and I can confidently say that I would not be where I am today without Mr. Durand's efforts. Even after I graduated from elementary school, he was still invested in my education and checked in on me.
Stand with Mr. Durand! The Rock Prairie 'Ranglers need him!
