Our support for LA Mayor Karen Bass is deeply personal. We recognize the targeted attacks she continuously faces as a Black Female Executive, especially in the light of ongoing efforts to combat lies, racism, and false narratives about wildfire management in Pasadena California area. The unjust characterizations and anti-DEI sentiments are not just harmful, but they perpetuate harmful stereotypes about who is qualified to lead and work in leadership roles.

In addition, there is a pressing need to correct the misinformation concerning jurisdiction over wildfire efforts. Specifically, the notion incorrectly linking Mayor Bass with wildfire management in The Palisades and Altadena when these areas have their duly elected mayors.

According to a 2021 study by New York University, false information spreads six times faster than the truth, and it's essential to combat this tide of untruths for the betterment of our society (Source: NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights).

By standing with Mayor Bass and against these biased attacks, we are taking a stand for truth, integrity, and fairness in political discourse.
