To the Leaders in Gaza: Choose Life
At this moment of immense suffering and devastation in Gaza, rejecting the current ceasefire proposal will only deepen the wound.
It means the bombs will keep falling,
It means more children will die,
It means the people, already crushed by hunger, displacement, and fear, will be asked to endure the unbearable.
We know the deal is flawed.
We know it comes from a government in Israel whose actions and words have shown a desire to erase Gaza and displace its people.
And yes, sixty days of ceasefire, without a permanent end to this war, is not justice.
But if this proposal is rejected—what then?
What power do we have to stop what comes next?
Will it bring freedom, or just more death?
This ceasefire, even in its imperfection, offers something precious:
Time.
Time to breathe,
Time to regroup,
Time to let aid in,
Time to let families rest, bury their dead, and maybe—just maybe—feel human again.
It’s not surrender.
It’s survival.
True leadership is not measured in slogans or defiance, but in the courage to protect your people—even when that means compromise.
This moment is not about pride.
It’s about mercy.
To every leader who has a voice—
Use it.
Urge those in power in Gaza to accept this proposal, not because it is fair, but because the alternative is catastrophe.
Any movement that claims to defend the people must never ask them to die in its place.
When the people are forced to pay the price for leadership’s decisions, something has gone wrong.
This message is personal.
I do not speak for a party, or a government, or a movement.
I speak as a Palestinian.
A human being.
Someone who cannot keep watching his people crushed by war, and remain silent.
Do the right thing.
Let compassion guide your decision.
Even a fragile ceasefire can give a wounded people a moment to breathe.
And right now, even a moment matters.
