More than 6 months after misinformation about their child sexual abuse prevention research caused Allyn Walker to lose their position at Old Dominion University, the Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse at John Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health has announced that Dr. Walker will be joining them as a postdoctoral fellow. In a follow-up to their initial announcement, the Moore Center acknowledged Dr. Walker as a "leader in the field of perpetration prevention research," adding that Allyn Walker's new role will involve "support[ing] multiple, large-scale, ongoing research projects" while helping to identify future areas of research.
In welcoming Dr. Walker, the Moore Center will be demonstrating an uncompromising commitment to keeping kids safe, sending the message that the CSA prevention community continues to prioritize research and evidence-backed approaches over fearmongering and virtue-signaling. If you would like to support the Moore Center's ongoing work to prevent child sexual abuse through a public health approach, you can find instructions on how to donate here.
