Stand With Banjo: Stop Illegal Service Animal Eviction at Jamestown Square
Stand With Banjo: Stop Illegal Service Animal Eviction at Jamestown Square
The Issue
If you live in Vincennes or around Jamestown Square, you probably know my pug, Banjo. He is a gentle, sweet little soul who loves his community, but more importantly, he is my vital mental health support animal. Banjo is trained to help me get through severe panic attacks, and he is quite literally the reason I can feel safe and grounded in my own home every single day.
On Oct 15th, the property manager at Jamestown Square demanded that I get rid of him immediately, claiming he is a danger. Anyone who has ever met Banjo knows this couldn't be further from the truth. Even the official police report from an unfounded minor neighbor misunderstanding months ago explicitly states that no one was hurt and no skin was broken. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body.
Thanks to the incredible backing of my community I have stood my ground and corporate has given us a brief 10-day pause, but the threat to take my boy away is still very real. They are giving us until October 25th.
Because I don't have a car to drive around town collecting physical signatures, I am asking our amazing community to rally behind us right here online.
If you believe that animals are family, that mental health matters, and that no one should be bullied into giving up a gentle, loving pet, please sign your name. Let’s show management that Banjo is a beloved part of our community and belongs right here at home where he is safe. Thank you all so much for your love and support! ❤️
