Stand up to ridiculous fuel prices!

Stand up to ridiculous fuel prices!
Dear All,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this petition.
The reason I have decided to start this petition is that we need to finally take a stand to the ridiculous rising fuel prices.
We are currently living in very difficult times, some people can’t even afford to put food on their tables to feed their families, others are having to choose between feeding their families or keeping them warm due to the significant rise in energy prices which are due to rise again in October.
I for one am sick and tired of being a “slave to the system” and it is time we take a stand.
Like many of you, I rely on using my vehicle to travel, but given the significant rise in fuel prices more and more people are finding this unaffordable.
Yesterday, 7th June, ITV news have reported that fuel is to hit £2.00 a litre this summer. Please see link below for reference.
In an article from the Guardian dated 12th May 2022, titled “Greed and Fear” reported that both BP and Shell made profits of over 6 billion pounds in their first quarter. The title says it all as that is exactly what this is “Greed” from draining our pockets to feed theirs and “Fear” that people will finally take a stand.
In another article from the guardian dated 5th February 2022, reported that “Oil giants BP and Shell are on course to make a combined profit of almost £40bn this year from the rocketing price of petrol and gas”.
£40bn profit from the increase in fuel prices whilst people are struggling to feed their families, their children, how does this make you feel? Why are we just sitting back and accepting the rising prices? Don’t you think it’s about time we take a stand? The reason they are getting away with this is because people have just accepted this as the new norm but why should we?!
All I am asking is that you kindly sign and share this petition to reduce fuel prices and not by a mere Rishi Sunak’s 5 pence! It’s about time fuel is reduced significantly to at least below £1.50 a litre in so that is affordable for each and every-one of us and a cap is put on it, so we are never put in this situation again. I assure you, even with a price of less than £1.50 a litre, the fuel companies will still be raking billions in profits.
In Rishi Sunak’s spring statement, he stated “I want to help people now” so if you really want to help people Rishi lets see a real reduction and put a cap on fuel prices. Like Martin Luther King Jr said "The time is always right to do what is right" so do what is right and really "help people".
We need 100,000 signatures for this to reach a parliament debate so please sign and share!
Thank you!
