Students, parents, and a majority of our school community are being directly affected by the dismissal of our Fine Arts Director, Erin Yevak. Over the course of multiple remarkable performances, Ms. Yevak has built not just a program but a home for students of all backgrounds to express themselves, grow in confidence, and find their voice. Her leadership has created unforgettable memories, deep friendships, and a creative outlet that many students rely on for emotional well-being and personal development that comes with being in the theatre department.

Losing Ms. Yevak means more than the loss of a teacher, it means the dismantling of a core part of our thriving Fine Arts department. Future students will miss out on the same life-changing experiences we've had. Without her direction, the quality and heart of our theatre program will suffer.

We cannot let this decision stand unchallenged. These decisions should not come at the expense of the people who inspire, mentor, and uplift our students. The timing of this decision, right after a successful season, is not only confusing but deeply disheartening. Now is the time to raise our voices and show that Erin Yevak’s impact is too important to ignore. We urge school leadership to reconsider this decision.
