Thank you to the more than 2,900 supporters who have signed and shared this petition. Your voices have helped make it clear to Chicago Public Schools that our community is deeply committed to protecting what makes ChiArts unique and irreplaceable.

Today, members of the ChiArts parent community sent a formal letter to Conrad Timmons, Acting Chief Portfolio Officer for CPS, following his visit to ChiArts on November 10th. In that letter, we expressed our gratitude for the opportunity to share our experiences, our concerns, and our belief in the profound value ChiArts brings to the district.

While we appreciate CPS’s vote to affirm that there will be a ChiArts, we still have no clarity on the future of its most essential component — the conservatory model.

The conservatory is not a bonus feature. It is ChiArts. It is the reason students choose this school. It is the foundation of its success and the heart of its mission.

Until CPS provides a clear and public plan to preserve and fund the conservatory model in full, the future of ChiArts as Chicago’s only public, tuition-free, pre-professional arts high school remains uncertain.

We are asking CPS for transparency, urgency, a concrete timeline and meaningful engagement for the students, families, educators, and alumni who have built and sustained the ChiArts community for over 15 years..

Your continued support is critical.

Please keep sharing, posting, and promoting the petition so our collective voice remains impossible to ignore.

Thank you, sincerely, for standing with ChiArts.
