The harassment from Santa Rita Land and Cattle Company LLC (SRLCC) and their legal representation Domenici Law Firm PC has not stopped since our last update. A ruling from Judge Villalobos ordered all parties to pay a Mediation Fee within 10 days from Janaury 21, 2020. Unfortunately, we never received the notice from the court and we didn't receive the notification of the filing until March. We paid the fee within 6 days of becoming aware of the filing. However, SRLCC hasn't paid the Mediation Fee since January 31st and the court has issued 2 Amended Mediation orders. This is a blatant denial of the Judge's orders to mediate with us.
Additionally, a few weeks ago, Domenici Law Firm, on behalf of SRLCC, decided to go against the ruling of the court and sent us a Demand Letter. SRLCC attempts to claim this letter is a rental agreement but the letter is missing several key sections that would qualify the document as an "agreement" or "contract" under the rules and regulations of New Mexico, like our signatures, agreement terms, etc. This document was nothing but a retaliatory demand letter that directly ignored the mediation order from the court and attempts to illegally evict us from the land for the SECOND TIME in the last 2 years showing a pattern of disregard for the law, judge's orders and the legal process set in place by the State of New Mexico.
We'd like to present this petition to Judge Villalobos at our next hearing on June 26, 2020 in Cibola County 13th District Court in Grants, NM at 1:30 pm with at least 1,000 signatures of solidarity.
Please share this petition with your friends and family, encourage them to read our updates and sign if they'd like people of color to have the freedom and exercise their right to purchase property anywhere in New Mexico and be lawfully protected by the rules and regulations of the State of New Mexico to live in peace and harmony. Help us communicate to unlawful business owners, people who discriminate and abuse their authority that people of color can come together and support each other when it comes to our federal, state, and local rights being honored and enforced.
Our most recent filing to the Court is praying for the Court to award us with the properties we've been actively living on and caring for in the past 3 years. Santa Rita has attempted to defame our names and legacy by telling the court that we have a disregard for the land and are not caring for it. Those of you who know us personally know that this is the farthest from the truth and is malicious libel. Your signature will also show your support to Judge Villalobos for a ruling in our favor.
We are currently representing ourselves in court against this unlawful real estate company so that they are not free to discriminate against people for their race, religion or retaliate against people without being held accountable by the Court. Your helping us to spread awareness about these retaliatory actions isn't just helping us, it's helping to set a precedent in Cibola County that people of color will not silently walk away when their rights are being violated. Your signature and share will help generations to come to be able to legally and rightfully stand against people who try to abuse and dodge the law to kick people out of an area.
