Students across India have gathered at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, following allegations surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 examination and broader concerns about fairness, transparency, accountability, and the future of India's education and recruitment systems. What began as concerns over an examination has grown into a wider call from students for transparency, accountability, and reforms that strengthen trust in public examinations and recruitment processes. Across the country—and even around the world—many people support the students but are unable to travel to Delhi because of work, studies, financial constraints, health, distance, or family responsibilities. Their inability to be physically present does not mean they do not care. This independent online signature campaign was created to give those supporters a peaceful and meaningful way to stand in solidarity with the students.

The students have called for:

1. A transparent and independent investigation into the alleged examination irregularities.
2. Accountability for those responsible.
3. Reforms to strengthen the integrity and credibility of public examinations.
4. Fair and transparent examination and recruitment systems.
5. Justice for students affected by these events.
6. Education is the foundation of opportunity for millions of young people. Every student who dedicates months or years of hard work deserves confidence that examinations and recruitment processes are conducted fairly, transparently, and with integrity. Public trust in these systems is essential for students, families, and society as a whole.

We are also concerned by reports of injuries during clashes between protesters and police. While accounts of the events differ and investigations continue, we believe that any allegations of excessive use of force should be examined through a fair, impartial, and transparent process. We also recognize that authorities have stated that police personnel were injured during the confrontation. We hope all parties act with restraint and that concerns are addressed through peaceful dialogue and lawful processes. Student movements have historically played an important role in bringing attention to issues that affect education and society. Peaceful protest is one of the democratic ways through which citizens can express their concerns and ask institutions to listen. Supporting the students' right to peacefully raise their voices is a way of supporting fairness, accountability, transparency, and constructive dialogue.
