Perpetual Harm 1

The harm did not end with the assault. It was compounded by manipulation, victim-blaming, and institutional failure, revealing how communities can become active participants in abuse when accountability is absent. I have labeled the individuals involved as FLYING MONKEYS. This choice was not by accident, as a matter of fact quite the opposite. For those unfamiliar with this term: The concept “Attack of the Flying Monkeys” is used to describe how third parties—intentionally or not—carry out an abuser’s agenda: * Defending the abuser * Casting doubt on the survivor * Pressuring silence * Repeating the abuser’s narrative * Isolating and discrediting the victim
