As most people know The Bahijah is sitting off the coast of Fremantle with sheep and cattle still onboard. These animals would have possibly been picked up by truck around the 1st - 2nd of January, put on the floating coffin on the 5th of January and they’re still on there! 36-39 days they’ve been “travelling in a confined state, they would be lucky to be able to walk, it would be ideal if the “transparent” industry allowed cameras on the dock when the animals were offloaded but I’m guessing their “transparency” isn’t that gracious (eye roll).
Excerp from the ag dept: “Throughout this whole process, Australia’s biosecurity, and the health and welfare of the animals onboard, have remained the Department’s highest priorities”.
What a load of sheep ship - Animals ARE dying on this ship, if they’re diseased remove them from the ship and end their suffering swiftly, many would be fly blown and extremely unwell, sheep succumb to disease rather rapidly in these conditions, oh and WA is suffering through a heatwave… But the exporters, Murray Watts, Anthony Albanese sit back in their air conditioning and do nothing.
3 days ago the department said “51 sheep and four head of cattle have died since they were loaded but this wasn’t out of the ordinary given the total number of animals on the ship”, without a doubt more would have perished.
I have been trying to get answers but it’s seems many government departments employ people that don’t know much, rather ironic - there’s that transparency aspect again.
There was to be a protest today in Fremantle, however due to unforeseen circumstances the event had to be postponed. There is another one being planned soon…
I have noticed since the Bahijah issue the petition has grown considerably so PLEASE keep sharing and asking people to sign it.
It also seems no one is interested in the bus trip, so for now it’s not looking good..I wish I could afford to cover the entire costs but I just can’t. If you are considering going please let me know so I can look at bus sizes and the more people going, the less the cost.
March 16th, please remember Sydney Town Hall Awareness Day..I’ll update closer to the day…
If anyone wants to buy a cap they’re $25, this includes tracked postage..Tees are $40 with tracked postage..
