Anthony Albanese recently announced a panel has been formed to create a “Phase Out” map for “Live Sheep Export. We will see the report in September, BUT it won’t be implemented until “next term”.
Labor seem convinced they will be voted in again, as we know there are NO guarantees and lots of broken promises - especially by governments.
I honestly believe this government is using smoke and mirrors to “bribe” us, so we need to get a iron clad guarantee the Live Sheep Export will end.
What can we do - The Agriculture dept have a page where we can “Have Your Say”. I urge everyone to please go to the link and make a submission or you can opt to fill in a survey rather than a submission..
One questions is ‘What Mechanism Do You Think Should Be Used To Phase Out Live Sheep Export..
*Animals slaughtered here, fresh meat sent by refrigerated planes to the country importing the meat or snap frozen and air. Our frozen beef exports are massive and majorly successful. Slaughter here and ship creates more Australian jobs, it reduces the methane output on ships, if an animal perishes on a ship, it doesn’t feed anyone.
