In October 5th a vet name Dr Di Evans release a report on Live Animal Export ships. I know this will come as no surprise to most of us, but it is further evidence as to why these floating coffins need to stop - FOR GOOD!
The report states that 30 of the 37 voyages studied had “poor pen conditions and insufficient space” also “the animals suffered with lameness, pneumonia and painful eye disease”. If this isn’t bad enough, over 40% of these ships cannot or do not supply enough water to these animals. These animals are stuck on these ships in 40+ degree heat with minimal or no water and often many of them are ill….
Almost a third of all Live Animal Export voyages face water and food shortages, especially if a death ship had mechanical or other problems whereby the voyage was delayed arriving at the port of destination on time.
Although we know there is not 1 positive aspect to Live Animal Export, every time a report or study is done, the facts are as appalling as the previous study or more often than not worse. Nothing they do will be acceptable, we know without a shadow of a doubt that Live Animal Shipments will never be acceptable.
So once again I’m asking that everyone who reads this, regardless of location, PLEASE email these people and tell them of your disgust, if you could add the link below that would be great.
David.Littleproud.MP@aph.gov.au, managing.director@mla.com.au, managing.director@mla.com.au, wcollier@livecorp.com.au.
And an email to A.Albanese.MP@aph.gov.au, telling him you will NEVER vote for anyone who does NOT Stand Against Live Animal Exports and bring an end to it..
I’m hoping to hold an Awareness Day at Sydney Town Hall on the 11th of December, I’ll update as soon as I know. Please if you wish to stay in touch.
