Townsville Against Live Export Report:
30,930 cattle were shipped from Townsville in May - 104,510 animals exported in the first five months of 2021. Of the cattle exported in May, 18,930 were slaughter cattle shipped to abattoirs in Vietnam to be killed, like these animals who left Townsville onboard the Polaris 3 on 27/05/21.
The Greyman Express is scheduled to arrive on Saturday 10/07/21.
As you can see nothing has changed, thousands of Australian animals are sent offshore on these horrendous journeys, only to be butchered in horrific circumstances. The brutality these animals suffer is unnecessary - in an age where they can send refrigerated goods across the globe far quicker….WHY does this continue??? GREED!!
The only way Live Animal Export will end is when we - every one of us vote against it. We desperately need to educate more people and make the whole industry hear us.
Emails, letters and phone calls to the Agriculture Department, the media and asking our superannuation providers and our banks if they support Live Animal Export is a start. I have been putting stickers in public toilets and roadside stops but I will get out and start doing letterbox drops again soon. If anyone is happy to put a few stickers or flyers out and about that’d be wonderful.
The next Sydney Awareness Day is Saturday, September 18th. If it is raining we will be on the eastern side of the QVB building under the awning, outside Haigh’s Chocolates.
The last Awareness Day in Sydney we had around 32 people helping to raise awareness.
