Stamp Out Youth Vaping
The Issue
Youth vaping has become a serious and growing problem in the UK. Vapes are too easy for children to buy, too common in schools, and they’re often sold by shops with little accountability.
As parents, doctors and concerned members of the public, we're calling on the UK Government to stop delaying the consultation on the licensing of vape and nicotine products and to take urgent action to protect children from illegal and harmful vapes.
Sign this petition to call on the UK Government to stop the delay, introduce stronger protections for children and stamp out youth vaping.
-Stop delaying the consultation on the retail licensing scheme for vape and nicotine products;
-Introduce proper safety standards for all vapes before they reach the shops;
-Require all shops selling vapes to hold a proper regulated licence;
-Give Trading Standards the resources they need to enforce the law;
The loopholes have been left open for too long, and our children are paying the price.

Our Full Petition to the Government:
We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government to take urgent action on youth vaping.
One in five young people in the UK has already tried vapes. It's in our schools, our communities, and our children’s daily lives in a way that should alarm every parent and every clinician. We're seeing the health consequences — in developing lungs, in young people’s mental health, and in emerging evidence of impacts on fertility that these kids won’t understand for years.
And the products driving this don't need to pass any meaningful safety checks; some contain dangerous synthetic cannabinoids, and they're sold from shops that have no licensing requirements.
We're not asking for the impossible. We're asking for the government to take action to make it harder for youth to buy these products and protect them from the most severe dangers. Ensure that vaping products meet proper safety standards before they reach the shops; require shops selling vapes to get a licence with genuine accountability; and give Trading Standards the resources it needs to enforce the rules that already exist.
These are gaps that have been left open for too long. Our kids are paying the price. We are calling on the government to act — now, not later.
