In the short time since launching this petition, the right-wing authorities have already moved against Tomek Kitlinski.

The governor, Przemysław Czarnek whose record includes inciting violence against those who marched to protest against the PiP party’s takeover of the Supreme Court on July 23rd 2017 , as well as the better known violence against the Lublin Pride march in 2018 and 2019, has now denounced Dr Kitlinski to the State Prosecutor, and is using him as a scapegoat for the opposition to his far-right views.

He claims that by objecting to his political views and the fact that he received a medal from Lublin Marie Curie University Dr Kitlinski has committed a crime against the state. This is clearly absurd.

It is essential that we state our solidarity with Dr Kitlinski, that we follow this story and that this act of political persecution is witnessed by international observers including ourselves.
