STACY’S LAW — IMPORTANT PETITION UPDATE
Another significant development in the push for GPS monitoring in Scotland.
On 8 October 2026, a new Scottish Government contract award notice was published for electronic monitoring services, valued at £65.49 million, with G4S named as the provider.
The contract includes GPS monitoring technology, exclusion zones, 24-hour monitoring and systems to detect breaches.
This is progress, and another important step towards the protections we have been campaigning for.
However, there are still questions that need answering.
Will Police Scotland receive immediate alerts when an exclusion zone is breached?
Will the person at risk receive an alert too?
How quickly will action be taken?
When will the pilot begin, and when will GPS monitoring be rolled out across Scotland?
I have said from the beginning that Stacy’s Law is not simply about putting a GPS tag on someone. It is about providing meaningful protection and giving the person at risk an early warning when they may be in danger.
We have made progress, but a contract is not the same as protection being in place.
Stacy should be alive.
I will keep asking questions and pushing for answers until these commitments become real protection for people across Scotland.
Please KEEP SIGNING AND SHARING the petition. We cannot allow the momentum to disappear now.
For Stacy, for her family, and for every person at risk who deserves greater protection.
