December 3, 2015 we had a mentally unstable cousin force her way into our home after impersonating a buyer for a bulldog puppy who would've be ready to re-home in 2 weeks. Claudia, our cousin, brought her half sister and another friend with her with the intent of breaking in to our house and stealing 4 puppies. Upon trying to stop them from leaving with the babies the friend literally hit my sister, Lauren, with her car twice knocking her to the ground while she was on the phone with police dispatch. My father having witnessed this and having been shoved over to gain access into the house initially helped and waited until police force arrived. When police arrived because of the fact that they already had puppies in the jeep police could not remove them from their possession because they lied and said they were invited into the house and Claudia fabricated in her mind that she had an agreement with Lauren, the owner of the dame, that half of the puppies belonged to her. Despite having had hit her with the car twice nearly running her over they said that since she put herself in front of the car that they couldn't arrest the driver at that time. We gave police all of the text evidences proving malicious intent and it will be sent to a civil court and we will have to press charges for forced entry, trespassing, bodily injury, burglary, and animal cruelty. But in the mean time the puppies who are still not weaned from their mama are being held in the hands of this mentally ill lady who is selling to "the highest bidder" is what she claims in  her texts. We offered to pay her whatever it is she wanted to leave the puppies with the rightful owner and mama and she declined that.  A little background on our cousin, she had her daughter when she was 14 years old and her parents helped her cover up saying they were adopting a less fortunate child from Guatemala. It was not until Claudia was 25 years old that she came out with the truth and claimed her daughter as hers. Fortunately her daughter refused to go and live with her and her boyfriend but she could not even take responsibility of her daughter and is now stealing puppies and we are certain its not to take care and find them loving homes. She needs money to support her drinking habits since she's had more than a few DUI's in past years. This could've all been resolved on the scene with police there but since the law sees this as a civil case all that can be done on the spot were police reports. If this was a live child the case would be no different if either parent claimed custody. We need signatures on this petition to avoid this happening to anyone else in the future.
