I am a resident of a barangay that has been struggling with water shortages. When the supply runs low, many of us have no choice but to fetch water from the poso (water pump), carrying heavy containers just to have enough for cooking, bathing, and cleaning. At times, multiple trips are needed, which can be exhausting, especially for families with young children and elderly members.

Water shortages are more than just an inconvenience—they affect our daily lives, health, and overall well-being. Households struggle to maintain cleanliness, and completing simple tasks becomes more difficult. If this problem continues, it could lead to bigger issues for our community.

Studies have shown that water shortages can lead to poor sanitation, increasing the spread of diseases and putting public health at risk. They also impact agriculture, making it harder for farmers to grow crops and raise livestock, which affects food supply and livelihoods. In some areas, businesses suffer due to the lack of water, leading to economic difficulties.

With climate change worsening the situation, it is urgent that we take action now. We need our local government to improve the water supply system, ensure better distribution, and find additional sources to prevent this issue from getting worse.

Water is a basic necessity, and every resident deserves reliable access to it. That’s why I am starting this petition to call on our leaders to take immediate action for a more stable and sufficient water supply in our barangay.
