The Parish of St Tammany within Louisiana, has been having mysterious disappearances of funds without proper explanation. The DA was given money to build a new jail in the Parish and now claims that money is gone. There is no explantation for where the money went. This is not the only discrepenancy in the St Tammany Parish budget. 

Now, after failing to add a millage/tax to raise money to build a new jail, three separate times on the election ballots, he has stated that he will just raise property taxes on the residents of St Tammany Parish. 

We believe that an audit is necessary to determine where the funds originally intended for the jail went and where it is now. Why do they intend to raise property taxes when they have not told us where the money has gone, and how can they raise the taxes without putting it to a parish-wide vote. 

There is no question that St. Tammany Parish needs a new jail however, there is something that doesn't add up fiscally in this situation and the citizens of St Tammany Parish deserve answers. 

Please share this petition with everyone you know who believes the government owes the citizens an explanation on where the money is going or has gone and the Parish needs an audit. This money could be used for many things but it appears to be being squandered.
