We, the Class of 2020 with the support of our communities, want the St. Lucie County School District to postpone graduation ceremonies before deeming a virtual graduation necessary.
We believe our hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic success deserves much more recognition than a prerecorded graduation.

We are well aware of the state of our world, and the position our communities are in. The future is uncertain, and thus planning a virtual graduation is a premature response to the COVID-19 pandemic we are facing. We want the graduation ceremonies in St. Lucie County to be postponed as long as possible, until it is safe for us all the gather and celebrate our seniors. A virtual graduation cannot begin to commemorate the accomplishments of each student. We urge you to take the voices of our seniors, their friends and family, and our community into consideration before ruling out the notion of an opt-in graduation ceremony as late as August, or beyond.
