There are many compulsory subjects /topics that we are taught in school yet not topics that are life changing or can prevent life changing circumstances, this is why I believe that first aid should be compulsory, in schools, everywhere. Being only 18 and in school for the past 13 years I have only ever received one first aid lesson which lasted 40 minutes - I believe that this is not enough. Having a part time job in retail and witnessing a customer that needed first aid, I had no idea in what to do or help, particularly when members of the public are counting on you to know what to do. This is why I believe that first aid shouldn’t be a throwaway life lesson, but one that can help people and lives.
