Hello everyone, we can get Big U saved. I know she is being sunk as an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico, and not everyone agrees about saving her, but concrete magnates in New York, Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Arizona are trying to save the ship lately. The New York Coalition to Save the SS United States is raising funds to save this ship. A federal complaint has been filed by this coalition about this ship being historical and needing to be saved for public use. All of the preservationists are trying their very best to get things done to save her. After she sails to Brooklyn, let’s see her sail to the Hudson River, and later maybe even to other places like the Great Lakes, Virginia Beach, Newport, RI, etc. . The plan for this voyage would be to move her out of GBX (Gowanus Bay Terminal) in Red Hook, Brooklyn NY out to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, then the Statue of Liberty and the Bayonne, NJ Cruise Port out into the Hudson River, and then she will head back to her home port in Gowanus Bay. I have told the New York Coalition to Save the SS. United States about this idea/ suggestion. If the coalition decides to do it, you can watch the trip from anywhere that has a great view of the Hudson River. Sign this petition to let her set a sail again!
