Square-Enix has stated they have the "Master version" of Final Fantasy XV done It is playable from start to finish but due to the issue of worrying about more polish the game has been delayed till Nov 29th 2016, and rumors are to better add PS4-neo support, it may very well be pushed back into 2017. 

We feel Square should offer an option (even if its digital only) to release the Master version of Final Fantasy XV as it is or by the original date of September 30th 2016) and then either wait to release the updated version on disk at a later time and/or provide a free update for the Master version owners to the newer version.  We waited 10 years: the game they said is basically done, so why not give the FANS the choice which version to buy or not?
