The World Ends With You ("TWEWY") is a game launched for the Nintendo DS in 2007-2008. It received critical acclaim after introducing an innovative battle system comprising of exciting real-time action on both screens of the DS as well as relating an immersive story with fresh, attractive visuals and an outstanding soundtrack unlike any other JRPG.

The game further received a graphically-enhanced iOS port titled The World Ends With You ~Solo Remix~, launched worldwide on August 27th, 2012, and a Japan-exclusive social game known as ~Live Remix~. However, what fans of this game–slowly but surely amassing over the years–really wanted was a sequel to the original game, teased by a secret ending in Solo Remix.

However, almost two years have passed since the launch of Solo Remix and no word of a sequel has appeared. The game has supposedly sold over 700,000 copies worldwide, a majority of which were distributed in North America. A huge part of this is that the game has had a great tail of sales, spurred on by mesmerized fans spreading word of the game and getting others to purchase it, even long after its initial release.

We aren't just "noise" that you can shut-out with headphones. TWEWY is an inspiring game and this collection of voices is long overdue. We don't want to see the end of TWEWY, but in this case, TWEWY ends with you. We can't even announce or denounce a sequel, forget make one.

Thus this petition serves one purpose: to make our presence, the presence of passionate fans who would jump at another installment of a game like The World Ends With You, known. If there is a reason a sequel is impossible, we would like to hear it, and perhaps hope for a game inspired by it in its stead.

If it is being worked on, then we'll be patient for a little while longer. But this is an era where gamers must speak up for themselves and try to reach out to those who have the power to make great things happen. So no matter the game, no matter what we seek–whether it be a sequel, a localization, or simply for our voice to be recognized–that is what we will do.
