I want a new feature on streaming platforms where in artists profiles, there is a new section called “Mixtapes”, where artists can publish their old music from SoundCloud so that people no longer have to upload pirated tracks as podcasts, and have them taken down. It would give new listeners a taste of where the artist came from and would allow OG listeners to switch over to new streaming platforms. This new Mixtapes section would not generate revenue or listens, to avoid claims if a certain track was never originally cleared of copyright, rather it would be for the enjoyment of the fanbase, and interaction with the artist.

An example of this would be Travis Scott’s popular mixtape “Days Before Rodeo” or Juice WRLD’s “Juice WRLD 9 9 9” mixtape. Although these tapes are currently kept off of streaming platforms, a new mixtape section would provide fans of these artists a way to listen to previous works without having to travel back over to SoundCloud, as well as having the ability to add them to their playlists.

A lot of listeners, especially in the rap community, would benefit from this sort of change. It would also give artists more freedom when building their profile. We would all love to see this as a new feature. Thank You for signing!
