Petition updateChildren of Singapore need team sports, at least outdoors! Some hope... but still no clear message from the MMTF

Hi everyone,

I'm sure many of you would have welcomed the recent announcements about traveling especially VTLs allowing for unvaccinated children to be included. Those were big, positive and happy news.

Unfortunately, the extension of the so called "stabilisation phase" restrictions for another month earlier this week was rather disappointing... more of the same, with the almighty "group of 2" once again ruling our lives, and more importantly preventing children from playing team sports and...well... simply being kids and having fun.

Then on Saturday Minister Lawrence Wong slightly changed tone saying that some restrictions may be eased,  explicitly mentioning that "team sports may be resumed". I wouldn't go as far a saying that it made my day but in the grand scheme of things it was indeed a glimmer of hope that the MMTF, together with SportSG and the MOH may start caring a bit more about this issue.

There are sports clubs, venues and organisations trying hard to get things moving in the right direction. Please keep sharing and supporting this initiative, every little bit of help counts.

Let's hope that we will soon be able to watch our children play proper football, rugby, netball, basketball, cricket, hockey...

Thanks
